First 50 Words~ My Secret Place

(1) ~ The Gateway.

I know a private secret place,
That is almost impenetrable to all,
I can alter the vistas and rearrange,
The outlook and furnish my private space,
With dreams and schemes and imagination,
I am careful of the contents, How much I reveal
I carry my secret place wherever I find
Some stimulation for my fertile mind.

(2) ~ The Entrance.

A waterfall guards the entrance
Of a tunnel to a valley beyond.
As you arrive at the end, two Peacocks
Gaze and welcome you to their home.
Streams and brooks with Swans gliding,
A Centaur waits to carry you on his back
To share the pleasure of a magical mind
As you explore this special secret place.

A closely guarded secret place, far too complex to reveal in the "first 50 words".

CREATIVE PRACTICALITY
By John Yeo

It would be difficult to display creativity as practical information,
This world is full of many kinds of creativity.
Try to avoid the discrimination,
By not labelling the different shades of creativity.

Just love creativity in all its wonderful guises,
Practical creativity is to be creative
With a particular goal in sight.
Creative design is very practical.

All creative writing contains practical information,
Although sometimes it is very hard to find.
Creativity can split one hundred words
Into two separate first fifty words, in a poem.

SHORT
By John Yeo

A life cut short in the prime, Sadness at the start of the rhyme, You lived on this earth with grace, Lighting a fire within your space, You stunned the world of the word, With writing that was revered, So young to be snatched away, In this cruel heartless way. As I try to praise your depth of thought, The "First 50 Words" is  far too short.

A life cut short in the prime,
Sadness at the start of the rhyme,
You lived on this earth with grace,
Lighting a fire within your space,
You stunned the world of the word,
With writing that was revered,
So young to be snatched away,
In this cruel heartless way.
As I try to praise your depth of thought,
The “First 50 Words” is far too short.

Faceless figures by Sue Malfe
  1. FACES
  2. By John Yeo
  3.  A face is the front people display to the world. Many people take a person at face value, measuring their expectation by the other person’s face. This can be very misleading as a face is totally beyond the control of the owner, in shape, colour, often even in the expression displayed. BEWARE! An angelic face can mask a devil in disguise.

  4.  People tell me I have a very kind face. I smile at the right time and I put the right expression on to match the mood of the subject under discussion. I hear the face can mirror many things. I have never seen my face or any other face, as I was born blind. I can feel faces to identify people.

Velvet Verbosity~100 words~FADED

My story was spellbinding, amazingly I was part of the action. I fought invisible monsters, drifted in time and found myself in a gentle space. Overawed by the breathtaking work of literature I  produced, I grabbed the nearest pen and paper and I furiously began writing. The results were incredible, I knew I had writen a best seller. Every word was poetical dynamite, explosive words, resounding from my head to the paper. The vision faded. I awoke from my dream with the realisation that the pen and the paper were also a part of my dream. Dreams can come true.

Velvet Verbosity~One hundred word challenge "Whistling"

The steam train, with thick black smoke billowing from the engine, sped through the countryside. As we approached a tunnel the engine driver pulled a chain and set off a piercing whistle. The lazy cattle grazing in the field looked up startled, some stampeded away from the noise. We stopped for water at a whistle-stop. Another blast of the whistle that masked a shot from the train as the wounded guard toppled backwards. The great train robbery was under way. A horseman galloped along beside the train and retrieved a black bag, thrown from the train. The police moved in.

Peter would bet on anything, One day Paul arrived carrying a box, I have two racers in here a fast one and a slow one. I will offer, you 100 to one on Tortoise the big slow frog and 2 to one on Hare the fast frog.
Peter’s green, greedy eyes lit up, he put all his money on Hare the fast frog.
Paul released the frogs and the race was on.
Hare the fast frog leapt away in the wrong direction out of the door to freedom, while Tortoise the slow frog hopped slowly over finishing line to win.

First 50 Words~ Murky

The narrow London streets lit with gas-lamps, were almost invisible on a night like tonight. A very thick green fog had come down suddenly, as green and as thick as pea soup. The smell of oysters and jellied eels drifted out of an open door. I knew I was close to the river. Big Ben struck the hour with ten resounding peals. Waves rippled in the murky gloom. A terrifying scream echoed across the river. Birds took to the air and the river frogs croaked in dismay.

We bought our new home in Australia, a colonial-style building set in a large garden surrounded by a white painted picket fence. We were puzzled, we got our dream home for a very good price. The previous owner had a nervous breakdown and left. We were woken by a loud grating, croaking noise a few days later. The house was surrounded by huge cane toads peeping through the pickets.

Do you realise that there is a type of frog in the Amazon jungle that actually flies from tree to tree?
Nope!
In my view nope is a shortened version of no hope. Did you know that?
Nope!
There is no hope of flying pigs, but flying frogs are a fact, you understand?
Nope!
You mean you have no hope of knowing, or no hope for the frogs? Do you care?
Nope!
My friend would you agree that there is no hope for you?
Nope!
