CIRCULAR REASONING
by John Yeo

Tree people arrived on the planet Earth to make contact, travelling through space from beyond the rings of Saturn. Travelling through the dark matter invisible to the human eye, they came through a maze of wormhole tunnels. Circles are very important to the tree people's culture, as important as the rings running through a tree trunk recording the age of a tree.Firstly they announced their arrival by crop circles with alien diagrams, laid out on many farms and fields, these went unrecognized and were ridiculed by the inhabitants of Earth.
They recruited weaver birds to weave and construct special rings of tree branches that were then energised with power from the invisible dark matter that surrounds everything in the known universe. Each ring was constructed and linked to another dimension, any person entering a ring would instantly become invisible as they travelled and entered this dimension able to travel through time and space, never to return. Many of the top scientific brains on the planet followed the route through the rings and fears were raised among the top echelons of society for their safety.
Then one fateful day, a human emerged from one of the rings and lived to tell a wondrous tale of life in a far-off paradise. When the danger of evil and violence threatened the alien visitors, they left very quickly. The survivor soon returned with some officials to the woodlands where the alien rings were situated, all he found was a fungal fairy ring of mushrooms.
All trace and evidence of the road to Saturn was lost.

KITH and KIN
by John Yeo

"What's up sister? I hate to see you lying here in the rain, crying. Come inside in the warm, I will explain to Mum and Dad, how you never understood what was happening."
"My dear brother John, I cannot face the world anymore, I fell deeply in love and he laughed at my feelings afterwards. Mum and Dad would never understand."
"Sister Sandy I will stand by you, we have shared a lot together during our lives, through our schooldays when we were growing up together."
"John I want to run away. I made a mistake. Will they ever forgive me?"
"We will stay and face the music together Sandy, I will stand by you, we will fight the world together!"

PETER, PAUL AND MARY
by John Yeo

Peter and Paul were very close, brothers who took care of each other.
Since their miracle birth, their lives were entwined,
joined at the hip, a part of each other.
The separation operation, was a very risky affair.
After many hours under the surgeons knives,
they woke to a world living separate lives.
Separate souls with separate brains and separate personalities.
They have lived together all their lives,
competing and laughing with one another.
In the face of danger they stood together, mostly fighting each other,
Peer pressure to be unique was always very strong.
Mum and Dad washed their hands of the brothers at a very early age.
Peter and Paul at Uni. met a very pretty girl who was Mary.
They both fell violently in love.
Mary was flattered, very astute , she never returned their hints.
One day the brothers were locked in combat over Mary's obvious charms.
"Stop! before you hurt each other,
I love you both equally, you will always be precious to me!"
Peter looked at Paul with mistrust in his eye and hatred in his heart,
"If what she says is true brother
perhaps we should never have been cut apart."
Paul responded with a gentle remark.
"Brother and friend, be happy with Mary,
I am happy to be unique and free,
I am happy to be me!

ON THE BANKS OF THE LOCH

Written by John Yeo

The sun came up in a blaze of glory, red luminescence flooded the clouds and reflected off the surface of the loch beautifully. We were camped on the banks of this huge stretch of water in our efforts to photograph the elusive Loch Ness monster. Hidden deeply in the reeds on the banks for fear of disturbing our quarry, we sat back and enjoyed this glorious sunrise.

With a sudden flurry of wings and a noisy screeching, a flock of waterfowl flew up from the loch as if in fright. We tensed expectantly and readied our cameras to photograph the infamous monster as it emerged from the water in the early morning stillness. Then to our horror a small rowing boat containing two men arrived, they were vigorously pulling the oars and disturbing the surface, making enough noise to scare our monster away. When the boat reached a point near a buoy in the middle of the water, to our surprise the occupants lifted a large body-shaped bag and let it go over the side.

Within an hour of making a call to the local police the area around the opposite side of the loch was transformed. Tents and uniformed police officers with white-coated scene of crime officers were everywhere. Working from a police motor launch divers were searching the loch near the buoy, a shout sounded as a long body bag was lifted from the depths and transferred to the launch. On the other side of the loch we could only guess what they had recovered from the murky depths.

Later we heard the bag had contained a tailor's mannequin stuffed with illegal drugs wrapped in cellophane packets. The police staked out the banks of the loch and arrested and charged a group of men who later returned for the drugs.

The newspapers were full of the drugs ring that the police had smashed and destroyed. We were commended for our prompt response and rewarded for our information. We never did get to photograph the Loch Ness Monster.
