I have been so busy on the allotment and doing other things it has been virtually impossible to keep up with my blogs. I will however post a slideshow of some of the amazing growth and produce that we have enjoyed and attempt to describe the incredible battle I have been waging with the infernal weeds.
We have had a wonderful crop of strawberries and Margaret is now considering what to do with the surplus, strawberry jam has been mentioned along with strawberry ice-cream. We have enjoyed strawberries and weightwatchers cream both for breakfast and for a dessert in the evenings over the last few days, and we still have quite a surplus in the fridge.
The onion crop has been harvested and I have the onions drying out in the shed ready for over the winter storage.

The growth of the prolific weeds has also been just as phenomenal as the edible produce, as soon as I finish weeding from one end of the plot, it is time to start all over again at the other end. I also had a mass of tiny bugs eating my runner bean leaves and making them look like vegetable versions of lace curtains. I invested in some bug repellent and the problem was quickly solved. The very warm weather has increased the need for watering the plants and I am getting very fit from lugging full watering cans from the tap to the plot. Everything is looking good at the moment and we are enjoying the fruits of hard graft~~
