Success! It is brilliant to arrive at the allotment in the middle of winter on a very cold muddy windswept day, to discover growth.
GROWTH!!~In the shape of wonderful little green shoots, coming through the soil from the rows of broad beans that I sowed last month, a great feeling of achievement to cheer up the long dark days of winter. My onion and garlic sets are also sprouting, living proof that life goes on, in spite of the incredible winds, stormy days with sea surges that we have been experiencing here in Norfolk recently.

I managed to photograph this full grown cock pheasant calmly walking across a field adjoining the allotment, although I had the camera on full zoom setting, unfortunately I could not get a better picture. The windswept bent over trees, have suffered from a continual battering from the blasting winds here.
