We woke up to a smog of polluted air this morning.
Due to unusual weather and atmospheric conditions the UK was suffering very high levels of pollution. Unfortunately East Anglia experienced some of the highest levels in the country.
I started work on the allotment as usual at about 7am to finish digging out the remains of my Kale, in spite of the damp and the smog.

I started work on the allotment as usual at about 7am to finish digging out the remains of my Kale, in spite of the damp and the smog.
My friend Darren from the allotment next-door asked if I would donate my unwanted Kale stalks to feed his chickens. I agreed and when I had finished I went to the chicken run and threw them in. I then stood back and photographed these assorted hens, they look very healthy, and I know they lay well as I have tasted some of their eggs in the past.
After breakfast I worked in the garden at home, I transplanted my Geranium cuttings and my Sweet Pea plants into their boxes and pots in the front of the house. I am sure we will have a magnificent display there again this year.
