The rainstorm was horrendous, savagely abhorrent.
The storm powered and battered us without relent
The river flowed faster becoming a raging torrent
Our peaceful lagoon was flooded in a watery ferment.
Wind stormed, lightening flashed with thunder,
When a wondrous wobble cast our launch asunder
Tossing and forcing the vessel to sink and go under.
Leaving our secret valuable artifact open to plunder.
The famous painting that Grandfather had loved,
Purchased from thieves who robbed and removed
The Old Master from a collection easily proved
To be authentic and could never be resold.
A very private artifact.
