For today’s prompt, write a weather poem. A weather poem can be a poem about a hurricane or tornado; it can be a poem about the weather person; it can be a poem about forgetting an umbrella on a rainy day; it can be big; it can be small;
The baby plants are all under glass
Nurtured and growing strong
Ice and snow are on the horizon
The wind howls from the North,
Waiting for the weather to turn.
Spring is not very far away,
The Winter drags on forever,
The farmer holds back from planting out
For fear of losing his crop.
Waiting for the weather to turn.
The farmer has learnt to weather the storm,
Never afraid to stand his ground.
The weather insults him with rain and floods.
Then the atmosphere gets hot and burns the crop
Waiting for the weather to turn.
Never taking shelter from the storms of life,
Ever ready to spread warmth with a smile.
Ice cool weather will follow the storms
Warm breezes always prevail.
Waiting for the weather to turn
