HAPPINESS AFTER SADNESS
A long tiring journey in heavy rain,
The motorway very busy,
"Love, I am having difficulty,
My sight is bad, it is hard to see."
"Pull over!' I take the wheel,
I finish the journey home.
Cataracts in both eyes the cause.
An operation on one of the eyes,
Smoothly and efficiently performed.
The next morning the eyepatch removed
Glorious detail and colours revealed
Wonder in the facial expression,
Almost blind, now with sight restored,
Happiness, thankfulness with high elation.
